25-plus years of experience in the field of Structural Engineering design and evaluation. As a licensed Professional and Structural Engineer, he has a comprehensive range of design experience, including buildings, bridges, and marine facilities. He specializes in the rehabilitation and repair of bridges, buildings, and marine structures. At MKA International, Inc. (MKA), he is a National Project Manager and a Resource Lead for the Civil/Structural Engineering aspects of our services.
Mr. O’Leary provides services in our Property Loss, Construction Defect and Construction Engineering business practice areas. He has directed Catastrophe Response teams involved with the evaluation of damage caused by hurricanes, wind, tornadoes, hail, flooding, ice, and snow.
His consulting experience includes numerous forensic investigations to determine the cause and origin of structural and building system failures on commercial, industrial, and residential structures throughout the United States. Structural investigations have been conducted on buildings, plazas, parking garages, marine structures, bridges, and foundations. Investigations have focused on steel, concrete, pre-stressed concrete, masonry, and timber structures. Additionally, evaluations have included building systems’ such as exterior facades including masonry, EIFS, stone, precast concrete, one-and three-coat stucco, and panelized systems.
Working with Contractors and Owners, Mr. O’Leary also provides structural design solutions for temporary shoring of bridges, bridge repair, bridge erection and demolition, building rehabilitation, temporary excavation bracing, protective shielding, and tower crane foundation and anchorage design.
