Our Engineers’ expertise ranges from industrial to commercial, residential to institutional, and includes infrastructure (roads, bridges, pavements, culverts, tunnels and marine facilities). We provide Forensic, Construction, and Design services to Insurance Companies, Law Firms, Owners, Contractors, Developers, and Designers. Over the last 35 years, our Engineers have evaluated thousands of structures and independently developed findings both Domestically and Internationally.
MKA has Civil/Structural Engineers licensed in all 50 states. Our Engineers have extensive expertise in damage assessments and failure analysis resulting from severe weather conditions and perils (fire, explosion, wind, flood, and earthquake and soil movement). MKA assesses failures caused by defective design and/or construction as well as product failure. This includes Litigation Support as it relates to Insurance Claims, Construction Defects and Construction Disputes which are either in Litigation or being resolved in one of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) forums. Our highly-skilled staff provides Expert Testimony in both State and Federal courts.
MKA evaluates issues related to Errors and Omissions and their Standards of Care. Our Design Professionals opine on which parties bear responsibility for the deficient condition(s), and routinely prepare proportional fault analysis in both simple and complex cases. These analyses can include monetary aspects if requested.
We have decades of experience with assignments that involve cause and origin investigations related to defective products and deficient workmanship or design. Typical services include analyzing defective conditions as it relates to performance representations, design, code and ordinance compliance, system compatibility and installations.
We can perform all of the necessary investigations for intrusive/non-intrusive inspections and subsequent materials testing. By utilizing independent testing facilities to perform tests, we provide our Clients choice of facilities based on specialty. This is particularly true for materials performance and composition testing. In addition, MKA provides Design services for new and retrofit/rehabilitation projects as well as Construction Engineering relating to erection and temporary structures. In disasters/ catastrophic events, we offer emergency assessments including the development of structure stabilization and shoring needs. Because our team has a solid understanding of the complex construction environment, we are able to deliver cost-effective and time-sensitive solutions.
